Neil Ruddock made Rylan his ring bearer at wedding after meeting on Big Brother

Former Liverpool defender Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock had Rylan Clark as his ring bearer when he married ex-Playboy star Leah Newham.

Ruddock had been in a relationship with the then-glamour model for many years, but the England international admitted they wanted to wait for their children to grow up before tying the knot. The beautiful ceremony took place at Eastwell Manor, which is located near Ashford, Kent, in 2013.

Plenty of celebrities were invited to the event, including comedian Bobby Davro and actresses Gillian Taylforth and Tricia Penrose. However, the most interesting guest at the wedding was the inclusion of TV favourite Clark as the ring bearer of the ceremony.

To the average Joe, Razor Ruddock and the former X-Factor contestant is a friendship few would have imagined. However, the pair became good friends when they both appeared in the 2013 series of Big Brother.

As well as competing in silly tasks and having some amusing conversations, their most memorable moment came when they both went skinny-dipping together. When Ruddock left the Big Brother house, he spoke highly of the television presenter.

"I think the connection I had with Rylan… that will be forever. A proper friendship,” he said after his departure. "I think I’ll let Rylan take my missus out and go shopping like a pair of girls."

Rylan was thrilled to be the ring bearer for the wedding. He took to his social media followers and wrote: “today’s the day…Daddy gets married! And I’m the ring bearer,” while tagging Ruddock and Newham in the post.

While Ruddock was always known for his tough personality on the football field, he was, at times, lost for words when he spoke about his wedding. “For us, it was the right time and the perfect day,” he said to Hello Magazine shortly after the ceremony.

“You can't ask for more than that. Everyone was coming up saying it was the best wedding they'd ever been to – and obviously we'd have to agree.”
