Arsenal and Tottenham told to sign ‘unplayable’ Dembele

Mikel Arteta delighted to see Arsenal’s ‘human qualities’ after Kai Havertz goal

Chelsea icon Frank LeBoeuf believes Ousmane Dembele would be a perfect fit for Arsenal or Tottenham. The Frenchman recently joined PSG in the summer but hasn’t got off to the best of starts – and LeBoeuf thinks he would thrive in the Premier League if he can find a consistent streak.

Speaking to CasinosEnLigne.com, Leboeuf, said: “When Ousmane Dembele is in a good mood, he’s unplayable. He doesn’t even know what his best foot is and when he runs, there’s no catching him. He could play for anyone, but his biggest issue is consistency. You don’t know what you’re going to get from him.

“The best players, like Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe, Lewandowski, and Haaland are all consistent and score goals. Dembele could play for Arsenal or Tottenham, but there’ll always be question marks over him.”

Dembele reportedly rejected several contract offers from Barcelona before signing for Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of around £43.7million. The Catalonians were keen to keep hold of their star winger but couldn’t risk losing him for free in the summer once his contract had run down.

According to French newspaper La Parisien, Dembele had been included in a swap deal offer for wantaway striker Kylian Mbappe in the summer alongside Gavi and Raphinha but PSG turned down the deal and instead signed the former Borussia Dortmund forward outright.

Dembele has had a laboured start to life at Parc des Princes. He is yet to get on the scoresheet for PSG in seven games and his stats are a mixed bag as well.

Dembele is more involved than he has ever been in build-up play with 57.86 attempted passes per 90 minutes and ranks well in terms of pass success ratio with 82.8 per cent. His chances created have also risen to a career-high of 4.5 per 90 minutes.

However, his finishing has seen a considerable drop-off. At the peak of his powers, Dembele boasted a 50 per cent shot success ratio (how often a shot is directed on target) but in his opening seven games for PSG, there has been a dramatic decline to 23.08 per cent.

There are positive signs there for Dembele in terms of his creative spark but he will have to do more in front of goal to be deemed a successful summer signing for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
