BBC Breakfast: Andy Murray sends sweet message to nine-year-old
Andy Murray has hilariously had a Christmas drawing he sketched ruined by his two-year-old daughter. The drawing of Santa Claus shows him, in his daughter Lola’s own words: “doing a wee wee.”
Murray, 36, shared a snap of the sketch on his Instagram story on Thursday morning. The depiction shows Santa grinning while standing on his sleigh loaded with presents with both arms in the air.
In the background is a Christmas tree surrounded by snow and flanked by two presents. The photo also features two small sets of hands in the bottom right-hand corner, presumably belonging to his daughter, Lola, who left her mark on the festive scene.
“My finest Christmas drawing ruined by (my) 2-year-old daughter who wanted Santa to be “Doing a wee wee,” Murray captions the post. “Santa appears to be extremely dehydrated,” he adds, alluding to the bright orange colour used by his daughter.

Murray is the father of four children with his wife, Kim Sears, who he married in April 2015. Lola is the youngest and was born in March 2021.
Sophia is their eldest, aged seven, with Edie, five, and Teddie, three, the two middle children. His festive period has already been a family affair, as he appeared in Mary Berry’s Highland Christmas alongside his grandmother Shirley Erskine earlier this month.
“Cooking is definitely not my superpower,” he captioned an Instagram post featuring a photo of him standing between Berry and his Gran, “but think we managed to pull off something edible when I was joined in the Cromlix kitchen with the best cook in my family, my Gran, and Dame Mary Berry.”

Murray has had more time for festivities than usual after his season ended prematurely. “I’ve picked up a minor shoulder injury, which means I won’t be able to take part in the Davis Cup,” he said earlier this month.
“I’m gutted not to be part of the squad, but my focus is now on rehab and getting ready for the new season.” Without Murray on the court, Team GB reached the quarter-finals before being beaten by Novak Djokovic’s Serbia.
“Tough one for the guys in Malaga last night,” he posted on X, formerly branded Twitter, afterwards. “Huge thanks to all the fans who made the big effort to travel out there and create a brilliant atmosphere for the players of the Davis Cup without you = (thumbs down).”
However, the world No 1 did not appreciate the reception he received throughout the quarter-finals. “Learn how to show respect to players,” Djokovic said while being drowned out during his post-match winning speech.
“Shut up,” he later shouted before adding: “Disrespect, but again, that’s something I kind of have to be prepared for.
“You know, in the Davis Cup, it’s normal that sometimes fans step over the line, but, you know, in the heat of the moment, you react too, and you, in a way, how can I say, show that you don’t allow this kind of behaviour.”
