Trent Alexander-Arnold is targeting a return to action for Liverpool in this weekend’s Premier League game against West Ham.
Alexander-Arnold missed the Reds’ 3-1 win over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday having withdrawn from the England squad over the recent international break with a hamstring issue.
Liverpool are back in European action this Thursday as they return to the Europa League for the first time since since 2016 after failing to qualify for this season’s Champions League.
The will take on LASK in their first group game before preparing to take on the Hammers on Sunday afternoon at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold is set to miss the midweek game however, according to The Athletic, after he was again absent from squad training ahead of the game on Wednesday.

He trained alone at Kirby on the day and will not fly with the squad to Austria to take part in Thursday evening’s match.
While Liverpool are hopeful their vice captain will be fit enough for some involvement in Sunday’s game, it is understood that they will not take any risks if he is not fully ready.
The full-back has made four appearances for Liverpool this season, playing 90 minutes in the opening day draw against Chelsea and win over Newcastle and playing the majority of the wins over Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

The Reds will be without Thiago Alcantara, who hasn’t played this season due to a hip issue
It is also reported that Liverpool will still be without Thiago Alcantara for Thursday’s game as he continues to nurse a hip issue.
The Spaniard has surgery on his hip towards the end of last season and is yet to feature for the Reds campaign, however he stayed with the club despite links with a move away in the summer transfer window.
He was linked with a move to Turkey late on in the window, but his agent rubbished claims of a potential move.
It’s unclear when he will return to action but, like Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool are unwilling to rush him back to fitness.
