Tottenham could have been presented with the perfect swap deal opportunity as they have reportedly had a visit from Juventus chiefs over a move for out-of-favour midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Spurs are said to be chasing Juve left-back Andrea Cambiaso and could use the Italian team’s interest in Hojbjerg to thrash out a swap deal.
According to respected journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Juventus directors Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna are undertaking a blitz in London this week as they hunt for transfer opportunities. The duo have held meetings with various clubs and were in north London on Monday night to watch Spurs’ 4-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.
Juventus are looking to fill a hole in their midfield after losing Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli to long-term bans following the Frenchman’s failed drugs test and the Italian’s gambling offences.
Hojbjerg’s transfer to Juventus is very difficult at the moment as Tottenham are demanding £26million in exchange for the 28-year-old Denmark international. But if the Serie A giants are willing to throw Cambiaso into the negotiations, the two clubs may well reach an agreement.

According to CalcioMercato, Cambiaso was heavily pursued in the summer as Premier League clubs, AC Milan and Fiorentina came forward in the hopes of securing a transfer. And there is now talk of interest from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Juventus signed Cambiaso from Genoa last summer but shipped him straight off to Bologna on loan. The 23-year-old returned to Turin ahead of the new season and has featured in all but one of his side’s 11 Serie A matches this term. The defender even scored the winning goal in the 96th minute when Juve defeated Verona 1-0 at the end of last month.

Cambiaso, who won eight caps for the Italy under-21s team, has appeared in 68 Serie A matches during his spells with Genoa, Bologna and Juventus. And he is now said to be on the radar of Italy boss Luciano Spalletti. So Spurs could be getting their hands on a future Italy star if they are able to prise the ace away from Turin.
Cambiaso would likely battle with compatriot Destiny Udogie for the left-back position if he were to sign for Tottenham. Udogie was sent off 10 minutes into the second half against the Blues on Monday as Spurs were defeated in the Premier League for the first time this season. The Lilywhites are now second in the top-flight table after being leapfrogged by Manchester City at the weekend.
