Todd Boehly has not been afraid to splash the cash since he bought Chelsea in May 2022. The American has spent over £1billion on new signings, with 33 players in total making the move to Stamford Bridge since the takeover. Express Sport looks at the six players you will have forgotten joined Chelsea in the last 18 months.
David Datro Fofana
Fofana joined Chelsea in January from Norwegian club Molde. Being an Ivory Coast international striker who idolised Didier Drogba, he was quickly likened to the Blues legend.
He made just four appearances in the second half of last season, with his one start coming against Southampton before being substituted at half-time. Fofana is currently on a season-long loan to Union Berlin but took 13 games to score his first goal for the German club.
Omari Hutchinson
Hutchinson saw best to leave Arsenal and join Chelsea in the summer of 2022. However, it hasn’t gone quite to plan for the young winger since.
Hutchinson made just two first-team appearances for the Blues in his debut campaign, both as a substitute against Manchester City in January. He is now out on loan at Ipswich, where he has mostly been used off the bench in the Championship.

Cesare Casadei
Young Italian midfielder Casadei signed for the Blues in August 2022 on a six-year contract. He left Inter Milan to make the move to England but is yet to play a single minute for his new club.
Casadei spent the second half of last season on loan at Reading as they were relegated to League One. Leicester saw his potential and brought him in on loan for this campaign and he has made 14 appearances so far for the Foxes.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan
Morgan signed for Chelsea in February shortly after he turned 17. The forward arrived from Southampton, where he didn’t make a senior appearance.
He has remained at Chelsea this season, playing for the youth sides. Morgan has two goals and one assist in Premier League 2 so far this term.

Alex Matos
Matos joined Chelsea from Norwich in the summer and has already played two times under Mauricio Pochettino. He came on as a late sub in the 2-0 league win at Fulham and did the same in the Carabao Cup victory over Blackburn.
The 19-year-old is capable of playing out wide and in attacking midfield. He will likely be restricted to cameo roles so perhaps a loan will give him valuable senior experience.
Ishe Samuels-Smith
Samuels-Smith also joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The defender, who can play at centre-back and left-back, left Everton after eight years.
The 17-year-old was on the bench for the Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon in August but hasn’t been in a match-day squad since.
