Jadon Sancho has been spotted playing video game EA Sports FC 24 – just before his Manchester United side line up against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The England winger has been banished from training by manager Erik ten Hag after the player failed to apologise for a social media post hitting back at his boss when he said he had been dropped from the team over his training performances.
Sancho returned to Carrington after the international break before the club announced he was set to continue on a personal programme having been unable to heal his rift with Ten Hag.
He was subsequently left out of United’s dismal 3-1 loss to Brighton at home on the weekend and has not travelled to Munich, where his team-mates will face a tough test against Harry Kane and Co.
But just under two hours until kick off, eagle-eyed supporters noticed the player was enjoying a game of EA Sports FC 24 – formely the popular FIFA series – with Sancho playing the mode called Pro Clubs.

One fan posted a picture of the screenshot accompanied by some laughing emojis with the caption: ‘Sancho is on clubs whilst United are about to play Bayern.’
Another wrote: ‘Jadon Sancho is currently playing Pro Clubs on EAFC 24… Man United play Bayern Munich in less than an hour.’
One screenshot also appears to show Roma star Tammy Abraham preparing to play another game alongside him.
The 23-year-old’s disagreement with Ten Hag came after he refused to back down when his coach became incensed by Sancho’s comments on social media that effectively branded Ten Hag a liar when he claimed he hadn’t been training at an adequate level.
The England star hit back on Twitter, writing: ‘Please don’t believe everything you read!’ he said. ‘I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

Sancho and Ten Hag held face-to-face talks in a bid to ease tensions but the player was still sent away from training after failing to apologise for the post

‘I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!
‘All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to the team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and I am grateful to do so, which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!’
Despite heading back to Carrington for clear the air talks with Ten Hag, the Dutchman was still unimpressed and Mail Sport this week revealed the decision to banish him from training was made after Sancho refused to apologise for the post.
A statement from United confirmed Sancho would train away from the first team, writing: ‘Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.’
Since then Sancho has been seen attending an Under-18s game at Carrington, sporting a casual look as he wore a hoodie on the touchline to watch United’s youngsters in action just before United played Brighton.
