Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed that Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he ‘wants to stay’ at Anfield during private talks with his Liverpool team-mates. The Egyptian’s uncertain future has continued to dominate the headlines in recent days after Al Ittihad submitted a lucrative bid worth up to £150million including add-ons for the 31-year-old forward.
Salah cut a reserved, emotionless figure after hitting the back of the net on Sunday in Liverpool’s 3-0 demolition of Aston Villa on Merseyside.
Yet despite his muted celebrations, fellow goalscorer Szoboszlai has now shed light on Salah’s situation – reassuring Liverpool supporters that their Egyptian king is committed to Jurgen Klopp’s project despite the outside noise.
The Hungarian playmaker told BBC Sport: “You know it is football everyone is talking. We are really happy that he has stayed.
“We are of course speaking between each other but he wants to stay, he wants to be here and be with us. We are really happy – we need people in the team like him.”

The Saudi Arabian transfer window does not close until mid-September meaning they’re free to return to the table with a second offer which is believed to be imminent.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who won the Saudi Pro League last season, are understood to be ready to pay up to £200m to prise Salah away from Anfield.
But Liverpool are expected to reject any proposal that arrives on the table despite suggestions that Salah is open to the move.
The Reds would be unable to source a replacement or replacements for one of their greatest-ever players until January when the market reopens but Klopp now considers the matter to be closed.

“I never had any doubt about his commitment to this club. You can’t imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player and wants to play here.”
Ahead of kick-off, the German was also asked whether he had to consider whether Salah was in the right headspace to start against Villa.
However, the Liverpool boss made it clear that it wasn’t even a question, telling Sky Sports: “I didn’t have to. It’s a media story and it never came through. I have a big desk in my office, a lot of papers, laptop, iPad and none of them are busy with this kind of news.
