Man Utd players' feelings towards Jadon Sancho after latest Erik ten Hag spat
Manchester United are expected to be without a whole host of players when they return to Premier League action to host Brighton next Saturday. The Red Devils will be desperate to pick up the three points after suffering two defeats in their opening four matches. And manager Erik ten Hag will have some key decisions to make.
Ten Hag will be without Antony for the clash after the Brazil winger was given a leave of absence by his club following allegations of domestic violence. And Jadon Sancho may not be recalled after the Red Devils boss dropped him for the recent trip to Arsenal and put it down to the player’s “performances in training”.
Lisandro Martinez missed Argentina’s victory over Ecuador on Friday night with a foot injury, while Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane and are also struggling with injury issues. So the trio may also miss Saturday’s encounter. And Express Sport takes a look at how Ten Hag could line his team up for the visit of the Seagulls if United are without all of those players…
Goalkeeper – Onana
Andre Onana has come under fire since replacing David de Gea in the Red Devils goal. The former Ajax shot-stopper should have given away a penalty against Wolves and has subsequently been slammed for not doing more to prevent goals this season. But Onana is United’s undisputed No 1 and will start against Brighton.

Defence – Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Reguilon
United’s entire back four against the Seagulls could be different than it was for their opening game with Wolves last month. Summer loan signing Sergio Reguilon could come in for Shaw at left-back, while right-back Diogo Dalot could be preferred to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who nearly gave a penalty away against the Gunners. Dalot started on the left in that match.
United’s defensive problems are so severe that Harry Maguire could even be handed a rare start after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford. And the England ace could roll back the years by partnering Victor Lindelof at the heart of defence.

Midfield – Casemiro, Amrabat, Garnacho
The ever-dependable Casemiro will be Ten Hag’s first name on the team sheet, with the Dutchman looking for the player to take the game by the scruff of the neck. Sofyan Amrabat – another loan signing – could be handed his first Red Devils appearance since joining from Fiorentina. And Alejandro Garnacho could be handed his third start of the campaign in place of Antony.
Forwards – Fernandes, Rashford, Hojlund
In the front line, Ten Hag will demand captain Bruno Fernandes galvanises his team-mates after a string of impressive performances, while Marcus Rashford will be expected to get his name on the scoresheet for the second time this season. And United will have high hopes of Rasmus Hojlund, who is expected to lead the line ahead of Anthony Martial after coming off the bench for his Red Devils debut last time out.
