Ten Hag believes Man Utd are on the up ahead of Everton trip
Manchester United will be looking to build on their recent impressive run of Premier League form when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Sunday afternoon. But Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag will not be in the dugout for the game as he is set to serve a one-game touchline ban after picking up his third yellow card of the season during his side’s 1-0 victory over Luton last time out.
United are one of the form teams in the Premier League after winning four of their last five encounters. And they began the weekend in sixth place in the table.
The Red Devils could be in for a fiery clash against Everton as the Toffees will be smarting from the 10-point deduction they were handed earlier this month after being deemed to have breached financial rules. But the visitors won’t have Ten Hag bellowing instructions from the sidelines.
The Dutchman had already been booked during his team’s defeats to Tottenham and Arsenal by the time Luton arrived at Old Trafford earlier this month. And he received his third caution in injury time at the end of the match against the Hatters when a throw-in decision was changed.

Last season, managers were only banned after they had received four bookings. But a rule change in the summer means bosses are now sanctioned for their third caution. And Ten Hag will be forced to watch his team take on Everton from the stands.
“Yes, that’s the way [it is]”, the 53-year-old told beIN Sports after the Luton clash as he addressed his touchline ban. “So I have to accept that. It’s not nice, but I’m sure we’ll prepare for Everton and my coaching staff will take over. They are very competent to do the job.
“So that was about a moment so clear, it was a throw-in. But it was the second time. I was on top of it and it was so clear and obvious [it was] our ball. It was my remark. Therefore, I got booked.”
