Man Utd considering five-man forwards list as rivals eye Sancho
Manchester United supporters have made it crystal clear that they want the club to sell Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek in January. The Red Devils endured a dismal start to the campaign but have improved in recent weeks and are now just three points adrift of the top four in the Premier League.
United could be active during the January transfer market as they look to build on their recent good league form. And they may look to offload some of their stars to raise funds for new additions.
Express Sport asked United fans which players they should cash in on in the New Year. A staggering 41 per cent of respondents wanted to see the back of Sancho, with 31 per cent of fans insisting it was time for Martial to depart the club. And a quarter of the fans said Van de Beek should be sold following his underwhelming stay in the north west.
Meanwhile, 16 per cent of supporters said Sancho was still worth more than £50million after arriving at Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund for £73m. A whopping 39 per cent of those who responded claimed Sancho would only net United between £21m and £40m if he were to be sold, with just under a third of people insisting the player was worth between £41m and £50m. But nearly one in seven people said the winger should be valued at less than £20m.

United splashed the cash to sign Sancho after the former Manchester City youngster had starred for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and become a regular in the England set-up. But the 23-year-old has been a flop at Old Trafford after contributing just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for the club.
He was left out of the matchday squad for his side’s trip to Arsenal at the start of September and was then banished from the first team set-up after speaking out against manager Erik ten Hag. And he hasn’t featured since coming off the bench in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in August.

Ten Hag could focus on overseeing a clearout in January in preparation for the summer transfer window. And after being asked recently about his transfer plans, the Dutchman said: “As a club, you have to look for improvements, so if you can find better and it’s realistic financially and with financial fair play, I think the club has to go with it.
“But realistically, in relation to the market, most of the time you don’t attract the best players in the winter. The top, top players will not leave their clubs in the winter. It’s players who are disappointed, injured or just not the right fit or whatever.”
