Harry Maguire dedicated his goal and the result to the late-great Sir Bobby Charlton following Manchester United’s Champions League win over Copenhagen.
So often the scapegoat for United’s troubles, Maguire was the hero tonight as he powered home the only goal of the game 20 minutes from time, as he alongside Andre Onana, who saved a last-gasp penalty, breathed life into the Red Devils’ season.
The former United captain needed to refind his form as injury to Lisandro Martinez leaves the door open for him to win a place back in the starting 11. And his continued form of late has made him undroppable to Erik ten Hag.

Maguire was interviewed by TNT Sports after the game, he said: "Incredible. We have got to be more clinical, we had numerous counter-attacks and we didn't give them a chance in the second-half. The first-half was really poor, it was not perfect but an important win. This man [Andre Onana] stepped up and it was a massive save."
In an emotional game at Old Trafford, which saw United return home for the first time since the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton, Maguire was asked whether it felt like someone was watching over them on a crucial night.

He replied: "Definitely, it was meant to be. We were meant to win the game, a magnificent save and a win dedicated to Sir Bobby and his family. It has been a tough week for us away at Sheffield United and losing someone like Sir Bobby, it affects the cub and the dressing room. But really pleased we could get the win tonight."
Maguire’s match-winning goal followed on from a Man of the Match display against Sheffield United on Saturday, and the fans duly congratulated the 30-year-old by serenading him at full-time. A reception that Maguire called ‘amazing’ after a tough few months. He added: "It is amazing.
“When you are not on your game it gets picked up, but I am really proud and pleased how I have acted over this six to 12 months. I have been given an opportunity and I want to help the team and get the club back to where it should be."
Victory for Erik ten Hag sees United move one point behind Galatasaray in the fight for second place in Group B after Bayern Munich moved onto nine points after beating the Turkish outfit earlier on Tuesday.
