Liverpool now have two weeks to prepare for the match against Manchester City as the season breaks up for another international break, but Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to be completely happy ahead of the campaign resuming. The break comes at a good time for Klopp with a few players carrying some injury issues and they’ll be expected to return in time for the game against City.
However, that might be the only plus point for Klopp who will be faced with yet another 12.30pm kick-off straight after the international break. That will be the third successive time this season that Liverpool have played the early match straight after an international break.
Klopp has aired his frustration on each occasion before the upcoming international break due to the lack of time he has to work with his players. But the Liverpool boss is even more confused as to why the Premier League and broadcasters agreed to put their blockbuster clash against City in the 12.30pm slot as both teams have players returning from South America late from the international break.
“We won [3-0 against Brentford] so no-one can say I’m moaning but how can you put a game like this on Saturday at 12.30pm?” Klopp said. “Honestly, the people making these decisions, they cannot feel football, it is just not possible.
“If that is the moment where the world pays the most to see a football game then nobody has to tell us. I don’t know if that is the case or not, I really don’t know. You have these two teams who have altogether probably 30 international players. They all come back on the same plane by the way, all the South American players.
“They all fly back (together), we put them on the plane from Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia. One plane and they arrive here. It’s mad. But we just have to make sure we are ready.”

Liverpool have four players set to travel to South America during the international break while City have two. Brazil face off against Argentina late on November 21 with both Liverpool and City set to try and rush their players back to England.
Klopp has benched Darwin Nunez in the other two league matches straight after international breaks this season, but Luis Diaz, Alisson and Alexis Mac Allister have featured from the start in games against Wolves and Everton.
But the Liverpool boss will have to work out how best to prepare his side in the few days after the South American players return from international duty before their trip to the Etihad on November 25.
