Laura Woods says Luis Rubiales deserves the 'social assassination' after he refused to step down from the Spanish FA.
Spain broke English hearts in Australia, as they won the Women's World Cup for the first time at the expense of Sarina Weigman's side. However, their win has been very quickly overshadowed by the actions of Spanish FA chief Rubiales.
Rubiales caused a storm, when he was seen kissing Jennifer Hermoso on the lips after the final. After the events, Hermoso admitted: "I did not like it, but what could I do?"
While Rubiales claimed the kiss was "mutual" and "with consent" on Friday. And the Spanish FA chief then added he was the victim of a witch hunt by "false feminists" after saying he won't "I won't resign".

And TNT Sports' Woods has now hit back on X, previously known as Twitter, when she posted: "This actually isn’t trial by social media…
"It’s a pattern of behaviour being called out in a way that can’t be ignored any longer. And if some sort of justice is served, perhaps a ‘social assassination’ as Rubiales calls it, is exactly what was needed!"

Pressure is continuing to build on Rubiales with Spain's World Cup-winning women's football team saying they will not play again until the "federation leadership is removed".
The joint statement – alongside players’ union Futpro – was signed by all the 23 players who won the Women's World Cup, alongside dozens of other female football players.
