Football fans have accused Fabrizio Romano of "ruining football" after he posted about the Ballon d'Or result before it had been announced.
As many suspect Lionel Messi is set to win his eighth Ballon d'Or as he returns to Paris after leaving PSG for Inter Miami in the summer – and Romano appears to have confirmed this. However, ahead of the showpiece, one fan saw an. opporunity to vent about modern football.
He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Fabrizio Romano ruined Football. First he killed off all those surprise signings that would all shock us… Now he's revealing the results of awards like the Ballon d'Or before they're even announced….. I'm actually over it."

Romano posted on X: "Lionel Messi will be announced as the Ballon d’Or winner tonight — his Ballon d’Or number 8, as expected. Ceremony in Paris, all set for it."
However, he wasn't the first to share the news, with newspapers in Spain first leaking the news earlier in the month. Messi beat competition from Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Haaland, who finished second, also claimed the Gerd Muller trophy for scoring the most goals in Europe last season.
