Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta can look to sell four players in January to raise the funds needed to sign Ivan Toney. A new striker is set to be on the agenda for the Gunners and the Brentford star is top of their wishlist.
Arsenal have faced troubles up front this season, with Gabriel Jesus starting just four Premier League games due to injury. Eddie Nketiah has scored five times in the top flight, including a hat-trick against Sheffield United.
However, the newly-capped England international has struggled to put consistent performances together. That has led to Arsenal looking at a potential winter deal for Toney.
But The Athletic claims Arsenal will need to sanction a ‘big’ sale in order to be able to afford the £100million-rated star. Express Sport looks at four players Arteta could bring in money for in January.

Emile Smith Rowe
Most Arsenal fans wouldn’t want to see Smith Rowe leave but it appears an exit could be a possibility. He finally started a Premier League match for the first time in 18 months against Sheffield United.
However, he suffered a knee injury in the game which is set to keep him out for a few weeks. Smith Rowe is way down the pecking order in Arteta’s first-choice midfield and there is interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, which could lead to a bidding war.
Aaron Ramsdale
David Raya has usurped Aaron Ramsdale as the No 1 at the Emirates. Ramsdale will want to push his case for inclusion in the England squad at Euro 2024.
If he is not back in the Arsenal team by January, he may look for a move elsewhere. At 25 he has not hit his prime, while Arsenal can demand a big fee for a player who only signed a new contract earlier this year.

Eddie Nketiah
If Arsenal bring in another striker, that would demote Nketiah to third choice. He has always maintained his desire to play regular first-team football and he will also want to go to the Euros.
Whether Brentford would entertain a player-plus-cash deal for Toney remains to be seen. Nketiah has shown he can score goals at this level but his consistency leaves a bit to be desired.
Thomas Partey
Partey was linked with an exit in the summer and again there are rumours he could leave. The Ghana star has not started a match since August due to injury and may miss the rest of 2023 with his latest problem.
He has just over 18 months remaining on his contract, so Arsenal may not get the biggest fee for the 30-year-old. However, if interest from Saudi Arabia reemerges, they could still get a pretty penny.
