Ajax fans have been left up in arms after Steven Berghuis was given his marching orders on during the Dutch side's Europa League clash with Marseille.
The Dutchman lunged in at Joaquin Correa early in the second half, winning the ball. However, Correa made a meal of the challenge, going down clutching his right foot.
VAR had a look at the challenge, and decided to send off the Dutchman despite winning the ball. One possible explanation could be the scissor motion Berghuis used in the challenge, which referees across the globe are trying to stamp out.

Berghuis couldn't quite believe the decision either, and he fumed in the media zone: "It's not a red card. In fact I just watched it back, it might not even be a yellow."
