Max Verstappen has claimed that it would be a ‘beautiful story’ if he could spend his entire F1 career with Red Bull. The Dutchman is out of contract in 2028 and stated that he won’t be thinking about a renewal for the time being.
Red Bull’s star driver has been ever-present at the sharp end of the grid since making his debut back in 2015 as the youngest driver ever to compete in the sport. Now aged 26 and a three-time world champion, his relationship with the team is cemented in F1 history.
Verstappen signed a long-term contract with the team back in March 2022, keeping him with Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season. If he continues his current trajectory and Red Bull continue to deliver title-winning machinery, he will be pushing the records of Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton by the time that agreement is up.

Speaking to Sky Sports F1 about his long-term future with Red Bull, Verstappen said: “It would be a beautiful story if I could drive here forever, that’s for sure, something that will be amazing.
“I’m really happy with where I am. I feel at home, I feel really happy with the people who are very close to me here in the team. For me, this is not something that I need to seek. I have a few more years left on my contract anyway, so I’m just enjoying the moment.”
Many have questioned Verstappen’s desire to stay in F1 beyond the end of his current deal. The Dutchman has previously stated his desire to compete in endurance racing events while in his prime and could walk away from the series if Red Bull fail to remain competitive.

Discussing whether or not it will be the allure of adding more World Championships that will keep him going in F1, he explained: I’ll do it as long as I like it and that I, you know, when I look at myself in the mirror and I can tell myself that I’m fully committed and 100 per cent going to go for it.
“Once that day arrives where I can’t be fully committed anymore, that’s where I’m going to stop because then you’re not in it anymore. I find passion is incredibly important to be successful, because every time I come to the track, I want to win, I want to try to do the best I can.”
