Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz will be taking on four golfers from the US Ryder Cup squad ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November, headlining an all-new tournament that will be streamed live by Netflix.
The McLaren and Ferrari drivers will be joined by Williams star Alex Ablon and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly as they prepare to take to the course next month for the inaugural edition of the Netflix Cup.
The F1 stars are to be pitted against a small selection of Team USA’s failed Ryder Cup hopefuls; Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler.
While Homa led the main charge for the US side at Marco Simeone golf club and was the stand-out player for the visitors, his compatriots struggled. Double major winner Morikawa cut a rather anonymous figure, while Fowler failed to produce the goods after a comeback season which saw him re-enter the world top 50 after a prolonged and concerning hiatus.

Thomas, one of America’s most well-known golf stars, made the Ryder Cup team by the skin of his teeth following a wildcard pick from captain Zach Johnson.
This collaboration has come to life off the back of the success of Netflix’s two hit sports docuseries – Drive to Survive and Full Swing – with the American streaming giant now taking strides into the world of sports broadcasting.
While Albon and Gasly’s golfing skills are relatively unknown, Norris and Sainz have a chance of holding their own against the professionals. The former in particular spends plenty of his free time away from the race track at driving ranges and courses across the world.

The 11-time F1 podium sitter explained his love for the sport to Golf Digest last year, stating: “I’m fully addicted, like I can’t describe how addicted I am to golf. “I watch it every weekend. I’m looking at the scores. I’m watching the live streams. The golf bug has really bit me hard, but it’s really enjoyable.”
That addiction has been credited back to his former team-mate turned rival Sainz, too. Norris previously wrote in his column for The Telegraph: “Believe me, no one is more surprised than I am that a game I had never really played until three years ago has become such a big part of my life but somehow it has. I probably have Carlos Sainz to thank for that.
“It was Carlos who introduced me to golf when we were team-mates at McLaren in 2019. We started at Topgolf in Surrey, near the team’s headquarters in Woking. Then he suggested I have a go out on the course. I was hooked from the word go.”
