Team USA star has Solheim Cup nightmare as clubs missing en route to tournament

American golfer Danielle Kang has called on fans for help after losing her golf bag just days before the Solheim Cup. The Californian is set to play at the prestigious tournament later this week but has revealed her bag is still in Amsterdam rather than Malaga.

The tournament will be Kang’s fourth appearance for Team USA having won just once at the Solheim Cup back at Iowa in 2017. Kang has featured at the last two biennial events with Team Europe claiming the previous two wins in both Scotland and Ohio.

With her sights set on a second win Kang will be at a serious disadvantage without her clubs which appear to have been lost in transit. The golfer posted on X asking fans for help after they failed to arrive at the Finca Cortesin in Malaga, Spain.

“Hi. I need everyone’s help again,” the post read. “My captain and the entire US Team has been on this but someone PLEASE put my GOLF bag on the next flight out of AMSTERDAM to MALAGA…

“It’s missed every flight it could’ve been on today..BAG TAG 0074676649 @transavia flight @SolheimCupUSA”

Surprisingly this isn’t the first time the 2017 Women’s PGA Championship winner has had her clubs misplaced this year. Just one day prior the 30-year-old posted on her Instagram story that only her putter had arrived in Spain.

“My clubs didn’t make it but my putter didddddd. And yes they travel separately – Scotty Cameron knows,” she posted.

A similar incident also occurred back in early August ahead of the AIG Women’s Open, which saw her finish tied in 69th place. Kang posted on X to say that her bags went missing but were later found and delivered in time.

It appears LPGA Champion Stacy Lewis has also experienced the same issue ahead of the tournament. Posting on X, which has been reposted by Kang, the Team Europe player said: “@Delta @KLM would love some help locating a set of golf clubs… kind of a big tournament going on this week!!! @TheSolheimCup @SolheimCupUSA”

Both players will be hoping for some good news ahead of Day 1 of the Solheim Cup, which starts on Sept. 22.
