Amanda Anisimova has hit back after one of her followers claimed she had “giant boobs and narrow shoulders” and didn’t look athletic. The 21-year-old slammed her critics as she revealed that multiple people commented on her body “every single day on social media”.
Anisimova has experienced an impressive career at such a young age and had a major breakthrough in 2019 when she won her first title in Columbia and went on to reach the French Open semi-final as a 17-year-old.
The American has experienced mixed form since, also struggling with the death of her father later in 2019. She dropped out of the top 80 in 2021 but bounced back last year by winning a title and making the Wimbledon quarter-final, returning to the world’s top 25.
But some of Anisimova’s followers appear to be focusing on something else, as the 21-year-old hit back at the “hyper-fixation” on her body. The current world No 46 shared a mirror selfie to her Instagram story on Thursday and was criticised for the size of her boobs and shoulders.

After posting the selfie, Anisimova shared a screenshot of a private message she received in response to the picture. “The most unathletic body ever! Narrow shoulders and giant boobs,” it read.
The young American took the high road as she replied to the comment saying “thank you” with a kissing emoji, but she added her own thoughts over the screenshot as she published it on her story. “Idk what to think? Lol,” she started.

“The amount of people who comment on my body every day on social media… will never understand what the hyper fixation is about.” In another story, Anisimova shared a snap of herself blowing a kiss at the camera and wrote: “But enjoy your life, I’ll go enjoy mine.”
Adding a peace sign emoji, she concluded: “Thanks for all the input.” Anisimova recently withdrew from the upcoming Rome WTA 1000 after a tough start to 2023, which has seen her go 3-8 in wins and losses.
