Emma Raducanu will take on Shelby Rogers for a spot in the US Open quarterfinal on Monday (September 6). The 18-year-old will be bidding for a space in the last eight of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career, having now made it to the fourth round in her first two appearances at a Major. The pair are scheduled to play on the biggest show court in tennis – Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Raducanu has backed up her incredible Wimbledon breakthrough with another run to the round of 16 in her second Grand Slam at the US Open.
The Bromley teenager came through qualifying and is yet to drop a set across six matches, storming to the second week with impressive performances over top 50 players.
She opened her campaign with a 6-2 6-3 victory over lucky loser Stefanie Voegele, then overcoming world No 49 Zhang Shuai 6-2 6-4 in the second round after losing to the Chinese star in San Jose a month ago.
The 18-year-old produced arguably the most impressive performance of her young career as she bulldozed past world No 41 Sara Sorribes Tormo in just 50 minutes, securing a comprehensive 6-0 6-1 victory over the Spaniard, who defeated world No 1 Ash Barty in the Olympics.

She now faces American Shelby Rogers in the fourth round, with the world No 43 herself securing an impressive three-set victory over Barty in the Ashe night session match on Saturday (September 4).

When does the match start?
Raducanu and Rogers are playing their fourth round on Monday, September 6. They are scheduled second on the Arthur Ashe Stadium court.
Play begins at 5pm BST with a best-of-five men’s match between Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner, with Raducanu and Rogers to follow. The women’s match is estimated to begin at around 7pm BST.

“I think not playing in front of your home crowd, you have a different level of motivation,” Raducanu said. “I’m pretty motivated for any situation that I’m thrown into.”

“You have to step on the court with the same belief – and I definitely do.”
What has Rogers said about the match?
“I’m going to have to do a little bit of scouting I think. But she’s fearless. She is playing very well and she’s inspired. It’s going to be a battle. I am ready for it.” the world No 43 said.
“It’s really cool to see the younger generation coming up in this tournament, getting some big wins. It’s really impressive. I’m going to have to bring my best tennis again in a different way I think, though. Every match. That’s the cool thing about tennis, you have to adjust every single time and make a new strategy.”
