Horse racing fans have slammed a spectator who appeared to hurl a pint of beer at a losing horse as it went past the winning post.
The disgraceful incident happened after the seventh race on the card at Fairyhouse in Ireland on Saturday.
Cameras from Racing TV captured the abhorrent act in the closing stages of the Happy New Year From Tote.ie Beginners Chase.
The footage shows Grand Paradis, trained by Gordon Elliott, heading towards the post at the County Meath track.
As the grey approaches the line, a spectator on the side of the course launches the liquid in the horse's direction.
The footage shows the cup and its contents narrowly missing both the horse and its jockey, Davy Russell.
The cup then bounced back off the turf during the 2m 5f contest won by 5-6 favourite Jungle Boogie, trained by Willie Mullins.
Later on in the clip, another spectator appears to have words with the thrower and makes a gesture towards him.
Should the spectator be banned for life? Let us know in the comments section.

Grand Paradis, who started the contest at odds of 5/2, finished over 16 lengths behind the winner, ridden by Sean O'Keeffe.
Horse racing fans took to Twitter to condemn the behaviour underneath the clip, which has been viewed over 80,000 times.
