Racing season looks different this year but it doesn’t mean we have to miss out on all the celebrity action.
Herald Sun Confidential is bringing the usual trackside gossip and glamour to you at home with a series of livestreamed racing sessions on key spring carnival race days — starting with the Caulfield Cup.
In the first of our Confidential Facebook livestreams at 2pm, Nui Te Koha and Jackie Epstein will interview celebrities and racing enthusiasts including former AFL stars Campbell Brown, Travis Cloke, model Dani Shreeve, and hospitality king and lord mayoral candidate Nick Russian and influencer wife Roza.
“We can’t be trackside, which is something we all love to do, but it’s good to still celebrate and know we can keep up to date with what everyone is doing,’’ Roza said.
“We can’t wait to enjoy more of spring racing and hopefully make it out to the track.”

Successful Melbourne brands Grainshaker vodka and Ned Whisky are partnering with Confidential’s racing series.

In a non-COVID year, the Confidential team would typically be trackside along with a who’s who of Australia’s most famous and stylish.
Memorable moments from the Caulfield Cup — Australia’s second-richest staying race — include:

JESINTA AND BUDDY FRANKLIN, 2017
It was the first race day that glamour couple Jesinta and Buddy Franklin attended as husband and wife.
The model and the AFL superstar stepped out in style after they had wed in secret.
“This race day last year I flew from here, picked my husband up in Sydney and we flew to New York where I had my final fitting with (designer) Vera (Wang), and then picked up my wedding dress,” Franklin said on the day.
“I was cool, calm and collected on the outside (at the Cup) but underneath I was organising this entire wedding that no one knew about.”

What a coup to have former American Idol star perform trackside at the Cup.
It was well before he joined Queen, but it was still a thrill for the punters who stayed the distance.
Lambert would now command a huge appearance fee — the Melbourne Racing Club was ahead of its time.

JESS GOMES, MULTIPLE YEARS
The model and David Jones ambassador has owned the Caulfield Cup celebrity space for years, since stepping out with bestie Lara Bingle in 2012.
A staple each year at the track, the LA based Gomes has comfortably been among the best dressed crowd which gathers in the heath enclosure.
