Tottenham tipped to sell Dele Alli for huge fee to fund Milan Skriniar transfer bid

Tottenham have been tipped to sell Dele Alli this summer in order to raise funds for their bid to sign Milan Skriniar. Spurs are desperate to sign the Inter Milan centre-back, and have been told they could get £60million for Alli.

Alli doesn’t appear to have much of a future at Tottenham under Jose Mourinho.

The midfielder was substituted at half time on Saturday against Everton in the first game of the Premier League season amid reports of a bust-up with the boss.

Then, he was left out against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Europa League and then against Southampton on Sunday.

Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be interested in signing the midfielder, who Spurs are actively trying to sell.

And former Premier League player Noel Whelan believes Spurs would be able to get £60m for the 24-year-old, even though his form recently hasn’t been up to his usual standard.

Speaking to Football Insider, he predicted that Spurs would be desperate for him to leave if they were offered that sort of fee.

“Dele Alli is worth about £60million even when he has not had a great season and a half at Tottenham,” Whelan said.

“I think Spurs would snap your hand off at that price as well, quite frankly.

“It is something they would definitely take.

“His sale would free up some money to spend in the transfer market.

“Age is on his side and on his day he can be a real handful.

“That is why I think he will still command that kind of fee.”

Tottenham are believed to be in talks with Inter Milan to sign defender Skriniar.

The centre-back is seen as the answer to Spurs’ defensive woes, and Inter are said to be open to selling.

Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the 25-year-old, and tried to sign him when he was managing Manchester United.

Spurs have been told they’ll have to pay £55m to sign him, a fee which would come just shy of their club transfer record – the £56m they spent on Tanguy Ndombele.
