Tottenham and England star Dele Alli sustained a minor facial injury after he was held at knifepoint during a robbery at his north London home.
According to the Daily Mail, two intruders forced their way into the 24-year-old’s residence in Barnet during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Alli had been self-isolating in line with government guidelines with his brother, Harry Hickford, their two partners and a long-term friend.
The robbers struck Alli in the face but he did not sustain any serious damange and the thieves left having taken personal items including watches and jewellery.
The police have quickly opened an investigation after CCTV footage was handed to them.
A police spokesman said: ‘Police were called at approximately 00:35hrs on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address Barnet.
‘Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.
‘One male occupant of the property, aged in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.
‘No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.’
Alli, along with the rest of the Tottenham first team squad, are expected to return to training imminently as the Premier League aims to resume on June 12 at the earliest.
