- Alphonso Davies has become one of the best full-backs while at Bayern Munich
- Real Madrid are looking to get wheels in motion for a move in 18-months’ time
- The 22-year-old’s contract at the German giants is set to expire in 2025
- Madrid hope a later move will help them get the left-back at a cut-down price
Real Madrid are reportedly looking at a sensational swoop to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich in the next 18 months.
The Spanish club are looking to build their team with the long term in mind and have identified the 22-year-old as the perfect candidate to become first choice left-back.
According to AS, the speedy Canada star who starred at the World Cup has been identified as one of the best in the world by Madrid.
Spanish daily AS are reporting how Alphonso Davies is a 2024 target for Real Madrid
Davies has established himself as one of the world’s best left backs at Bayern Munich
Davies has a contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2025 and the German champions will be reluctant to let him leave, let alone depart cheaply.
The report adds that by targeting 2024, Real Madrid are looking to complete a move as late as possible to get the best value.
It’s a tactic they have previously deployed to finalise transfers of Toni Kroos – also from Bayern – and Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
Despite Canada’s group stage exit, Davies was seen as key to his side’s overall competitiveness as they competed on the global stage for the first time in 36 years.

Since joining Bayern in 2018, Davies has played 134 games for the club and scored six goals – winning the Bundesliga four times as well as the Champions League.
So far this season Davies has contributed in four assists in all competitions for Bayern but only one of those have come in the Bundesliga.
Real Madrid’s target of 2024 aligns with their already completed move for 16-year-old striker Endrick, but they will also be keen on other future targets including Erling Haaland from Manchester City as well as England’s rising star Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham – another star from the World Cup – though could prove a tougher signing for Madrid given the strong interest displayed by the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea who are all monitoring the central midfielder from Borussia Dortmund.
