Real Madrid ‘agree two-year loan deal with Borussia Dortmund for Brazilian Reinier’ as German giants land another of Europe’s hottest prospects

  • Borussia Dortmund are set to sign Real Madrid’s Reinier on a two-year loan deal
  • The Brazilian midfielder is one of the hottest young prospects in world football
  • Real signed him in January for £25m but he is unable to play in the first team
  • LaLiga registration rules mean only three non-EU players can be registered

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund over a two-year loan deal for highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Reinier.

The 18-year-old moved to the Bernabeu from Flamengo in January in a deal worth £25million and is widely expected to be a key part of the Real midfield for years to come.

But he is deemed to be not ready for the first team yet and Real see a loan move to Dortmund as the perfect opportunity for him to get valuable first-team minutes.

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a two-year loan deal with Borussia Dortmund for Reinier

Reinier will join some of Europe’s top young talent, including Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho

According to Globoesporte, a deal has already been agreed by both Dortmund and the player and it will be a similar deal to Achraf Hakimi’s successful loan move in recent seasons.

Reinier only made his senior Flamengo debut last year but scored six goals in just eight starts to convince Real he was good enough to move to the Bernabeu.

He signed a long-term contract in the Spanish capital and is currently tied down until the summer of 2027.

But the Spanish giants are keen for Reinier to play first-team football with LaLiga’s registration rules preventing him from joining Zinedine Zidane’s squad at present.

He cannot move between the second team and senior side because of a limit of three non-EU players in first-team squads.

They are currently occupied by Vinícius, Rodrygo and Éder Militão.

Reinier will join a long list of highly-rated youngsters in Dortmund, including Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham.

Dortmund boss Lucien Favre has already admitted that they are in talks to sign the prospect, saying: ‘He is a young player who can play as a number nine, in midfield and as a false striker.’

Dortmund are not the only ones interested in securing his services though with Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid all keen as well.
