Rashford and Sancho send messages to Mbappe after PSG star’s hat-trick

Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both hailed Kylian Mbappe after the PSG forward struck a scintillating hat-trick against Barcelona.

PSG left their opponents shell-shocked as they stormed to a 4-1 victory at the Nou Camp in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The French outfit even had to come from behind after Lionel Messi had given Barca the lead from the penalty spot.

Mbappe pulled his side back level soon after, controlling in the box before sidestepping a defender and smashing his shot in off the post.

It was just past the hour mark when he gave PSG the lead as he pounced to slot a loose ball into the corner following Alessandro Florenzi's blocked cross.

Moise Kean virtually sealed PSG's win when he added third on 70 minutes, before Mbappe's showstopper to complete his hat-trick.

Barcelona were pressing for another goal to aid their cause, but Julian Draxler nicked the ball on the edge of the PSG box and started a breakaway,

After a slick interchange with two of his teammates, Draxler carried the ball to the opposite end before sliding in Mbappe to his left.

Mbappe still had plenty to do and had time to take a touch, but curled a stunning first-time strike into the far top corner before wheeling away in celebration.

Man Utd star Rashford was more than impressed, writing on Twitter : "What a performance."

Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho tagged Mbappe in his post, and put simply: "Big player!"

Sancho also included a freeze face emoji, likely in reference to the forward's ice cold finishing.

It was a superb performance from the 22-year-old, and one which is already being billed as an ushering in of a new era.

BT Sport presenter and ardent Messi fan, Gary Lineker tweeted: "A hattrick [email protected] We may be witnessing the changing of the guard."
