Nottingham Forest are looking to add Felipe from Atletico Madrid and have asked about Besiktas defender Romain Saiss.

Former Porto centre-back Felipe joined Atletico Madrid in 2019, making 85 appearances for the LaLiga side.

However, there were rumours of his move away from Madrid, with Wolverhampton Wanderers keen to explore the possibility of nabbing the Brazilian.

Nottingham Forest have now opened their own talks with the Spanish club, in a bid to add Felipe to their long list of new recruits since returning to the Premier League for the first time in over two decades.

Steve Cooper’s side have already added midfielder Danilo, playmaker Gustavo Scarpa and forward Chris Wood to their squad in the winter transfer window, in addition to the 23 players they signed following promotion last summer.

Jonjo Shelvey will have a medical at Nottingham Forest on Monday ahead of joining the club on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Forest are still chasing a goalkeeper, a centre-back and a winger before Tuesday’s deadline.

They have been exploring a loan deal for Paris St Germain keeper Keylor Navas as cover for the injured Dean Henderson, who is on loan from Manchester United.

Harry Toffolo is joining Anderlecht on loan, while West Brom and Sheffield United want midfielder Lewis O’Brien.
