Neymar’s prediction about Klopp and why Mbappe will have second thoughts

Neymar predicted Jurgen Klopp would create a dynasty at Liverpool after the Reds stormed to Premier League glory last season.

The Brazilian had a number of very positive things to say about Klopp, alongside his Paris Saint-Germain team-mate, and Liverpool transfer target, Kylian Mbappe.

Neymar said of the Reds: "Over the last two seasons Liverpool have played some of the best football in Europe.

"Last season winning the Champions League and this season winning a league was strong, because they won the Premier League so comfortably. Their coach has built a strong team and next season I am sure they will be very competitive again."

Mbappe, meanwhile, added: "Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League. They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.

"Performances like they have been having don't just happen. To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager."

So far Neymar's prediction has fallen short of the mark, with Liverpool failing to hit the high standards of last season this campaign.

Currently, the Reds are sixth in the Premier League, a staggering 19 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

And this may influence Mbappe's decision to join Liverpool, who he has been strongly linked with over the past few months.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has a pick of every club on the planet, but Real Madrid and Liverpool are in the driving seat for his signature.

In theory, Klopp's Liverpool can offer the World Cup winner a ready-made title-winning team, while Real Madrid have the money to make the transfer happen.

Liverpool will quickly lose their appeal though if they fail to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.

And, unfortunately for the Reds, the once in a life time chance to sign Mbappe will be gone.
