Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will both commit their long-term futures to Paris Saint-Germain and sign new contracts despite speculation linking them with moves away, provided the French champions sign Sergio Ramos. That’s according to reports in Spain.
Ramos has been tipped to depart the Bernabeu after 15 years at the club.
The 34-year-old centre-back is out of contract next summer, and is believed to be exploring his options.
A move to the Premier League seems unlikely, despite links to Manchester United in the past.
He is believed to have held talks with Madrid officials over extending his deal, but is also considering a move abroad.
PSG seems the most viable option if he were to leave the Spanish capital, with the French champions on the hunt for a replacement for Thiago Silva.
The Brazilian departed the Parc des Princes for Chelsea during the summer at the end of his contract, and is yet to be replaced.
Marquinhos has maintained his place in defence and has been comfortable in his first few months without Silva, but has had Abdou Diallo alongside him.
And PSG apparently want a more experienced and established centre-back alongside him.
And last season’s beaten Champions League finalists can solve three problems with one if they were to bring in Ramos.
They are currently sweating over the futures of Mbappe and Neymar, with both linked with moves away next summer.
Mbappe is being lined up by both Real Madrid and Liverpool, according to reports. The 2018 World Cup-winning forward is said to be Madrid’s top target ahead of next summer’s transfer window, along with Erling Haaland.
And Neymar has also been linked with a move away, with a return to Barcelona talksed about for the last two years.
Both will be out of contract in 2022, and have been coy over their futures, with reports suggesting neither man has entered into negotiations over an extension.
However, it has been claimed that Neymar personally spoke to Ramos and issued him assurances over his future.
Spanish journalist Alfredo Duro explained on El Chiringuito, via SPORT, that Neymar had promised Ramos that he and Mbappe would both extend their contracts.
He claimed Neymar felt Ramos would be the missing piece in PSG’s squad to help them win the Champions League.
Neymar said, according to Duro: “Sergio, if you sign for PSG, know that I will renew the following day, but after me, something else will happen… Someone else will renew, Kylian Mbappe. If you come to PSG, we win at least two European Cups.”
