Newcastle United have been linked with a summer move for former Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore.

The 24-year-old Burkina Faso international has been at Lyon for three years, following his Stamford Bridge exit.

Traore, capped 54 times by his country after making his debut at just 15, previously had loan spells with Vitesse Arnhem and Ajax.

And according to Foot Mercato, Magpies could make a move if the Saudi takeover goes ahead. 

Traore signed his first professional contract with Chelsea at 18 in 2013 and scored four goals in 16 first-team appearances in all competitions.

He was then sold to Lyon for £9m in 2017. 

The 24-year-old has been at Lyon for three years, following his Stamford Bridge exit

Newcastle are making plans to splash the cash amid an impending £300m takeover by the Saudi’s Public Investment Fund.

The deal is now in the hands of the Premier League and if they give the go-ahead then Mike Ashley would relinquish control of the club.
