With less than seven days until the end of the transfer window, Aston Villa are looking to finish strongly.
It has been a roller coaster of a summer for Dean Smith’s side.
After selling captain Jack Grealish for a British record £100million fee, The Villans have also gone on to break their own transfer records with the likes of Emiliano Buendia, Danny Ings, Leon Bailey, Axel Tuanzebe and Ashley Young.
They have brought players with Premier League, European, and International experience, and the excitement, and the expectations, are creeping up.
However, the window is not shut yet – The Daily Star Sport looks at the latest reports of what could be happening before Transfer Deadline Day.
Weston McKinnie’s rumours building up once more
The Juventus star played an enormous role under Andrea Pirlo last season, contributing with five goals and two assists in 34 Serie A appearances.
However, the American Gold Cup winner’s future has been under intense speculation, and Italian outlet the Gazzetta, claimed a transfer approach from Villa cannot be over-looked.
Smith’s side have been after a new central midfielder all summer, having seen bids for Emile Smith-Rowe and James Ward-Prowse rejected by Arsenal and Southampton respectively.
Wesley Moraes wanted in Bruges
How will Villa fare this season? Comment below
The Villa No.9 is allegedly wanted by his former side Club Brugge, according to Birmingham Live.
Having signed for the club for £21m last season, the Brazilian was Villa’s club record signing before this summer’s outlay.
Moraes has endured some rotten luck during his time in Birmingham; severely injuring his knee after a challenge from Burnley defender Ben Mee.
He is yet to participate in a League match for Villa this season, but he did make an appearance in the club’s 6-0 victory against Barrow.
Douglas Luiz a target for Mourinho
The 23-year-old Brazilian’s impressive performances last season earned him a place in Brazil’s squads for the Copa America and the Olympic Games.
He was pivotal to Villa’s impressive 11th placed finish last season, and his performances have not gone unnoticed in Europe.
According to Il Messaggero, Jose Mourinho’s Roma side are eying up the former Manchester City player.
The former Spurs and Chelsea manager has already raided the Premier League with the signings of Tammy Abraham and Rui Patricio from Wolves and Chelsea.
Villa is understood to value the midfielder, who still has two years left on his contract, at around £30m.
