Mo Salah’s new look for AFCON as Liverpool star takes private jet to Cameroon

Considering his electric performances for Liverpool this season, it’s a huge surprise that Mohamed Salah has opted to change anything ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian King bid the Premier League a brief farewell with a stunning goal in the Reds’ 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Salah swept home his 16th league goal in 20 appearances after ducking inside Marcos Alonso and slotting through an inconceivably small space between Edouard Mendy and his near post.

It was another sensational moment from the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer who has appeared to be unstoppable at times this season.

However, Salah has refreshed his look for this year’s AFCON in Cameroon, with a suave new haircut.

Salah has trimmed his trademark hair, in a bid to perhaps distract the opposition before jinxing past them and closing in on goal.

The Liverpool right-midfielder will wear the captain’s armband for Egypt in a bid to win their first AFCON title since 2010.

With eight tournament victories, the Pharoah have won the prestigious title more times than anybody else.

Managed by former Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, Egypt are one of the tournament’s front-runners for the title this season.

However, Egypt will have to fire their way out of a very tricky group with Guinea-Bissau, Sudan, and a very strong Nigeria side.

While Salah is causing havoc and terrifying opposition defenders, Arsenal star Mohamed Elneny will be protecting the spaces departed by the Liverpool star in midfield.

Aston Villa left-winger Trezeguet will also be occupying the left flank for Egypt, having recently made his first Premier League appearance for Steven Gerrard’s side this season.

This year’s AFCON tournament is as open as it has ever been with numerous countries who are more than capable of winning the tournament.

Salah’s attacking colleague Sadio Mane will be spearheading a very strong Senegal side who also contain Chelsea’s goalkeeper Mendy, Crystal Palace defender Cheikhou Kouyate, and Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy.
