Mikel Arteta has responded to questions about the reported bust-up between Dani Ceballos and David Luiz. The Arsenal boss was forced to address the situation after it was claimed Ceballos was left with a bloodied nose following an incident at their London Colney training base.
With most of Arteta’s first-team squad on international duty a combination of youngsters and those not selected for their countires continued preparation for this weekend’s clash with Leeds United.
Both Luiz and Ceballos were left out of the Brazil and Spain squads respectively, as they look to nail down regular spots at club level.
But according to the Atheltic, the two had to be separated after Luiz confronted his teammate following a heavy challenge from the Spaniard.
Initial reports suggested that Arteta brought a halt to the session, with Ceballos left on the floor with a scratch to his face.
