Manchester United are still open to making more signings before the summer transfer window slams shut on August 31. And, with John Murtough eyeing Ruben Neves, it’s possible the Red Devils will add to their squad. Certainly, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side can woo the Wolves star to Old Trafford with some exciting pitches.
According to 90min, United are eyeing Neves.
The Wolves star has been a consistent performer for Wolves over the past four years, helping them win the Championship and consolidate their place in the Premier League.
United are planning to play more on the front foot this season, meaning the days of Fred and Scott McTominay partnering each other could soon be over.
And with the club eyeing Neves, it’s possible he’ll sign on the dotted line by the time the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
So Express Sport will now take a look at four things they could offer the 24-year-old.

A platform to win trophies
This is a United side slowly but surely getting back to where they used to be.
Solskjaer has done a good job since replacing Jose Mourinho, lacking just a trophy to show for his efforts so far.
But United have assembled a strong squad, particularly after the arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.
This now looks to be a squad capable of winning the biggest silverware on offer.
And though Neves won the Championship with Wolves, he’d ideally like better trophies in his cabinet.

A chance to play alongside Fernandes
Neves is close to Bruno Fernandes, with the pair team-mates at international level with Portugal.
And the chance to play alongside the United star may be too tough the Wolves midfielder to turn down.
If United were to land the 24-year-old, that would likely happen.
They’d be able to play Neves as the anchorman, pulling the strings in the middle of the park.
And it would give the likes of Fernandes and Paul Pogba the freedom to focus on the attacking sides of their game as a result.
A chance to grow
United, with all due respect to Wolves, are a different beast entirely.
Though they’ve struggled in the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, they’re still a gargantuan presence within the footballing world.
And Neves would be pressing the upgrade button if he’s to move to Old Trafford.
Not just for his trophy prospects, as we’ve mentioned above.
But also his profile would grow, as it tends to do when you’re playing for one of the biggest clubs in the country – and the world.
Wolves talk Neves future
Speaking recently, meanwhile, Wolves boss Bruno Lage admitted he wanted Neves to stay.
However, he also made it clear that any player was available for the right price, saying: “All the top players we have are linked with all the clubs in the world.
“If you go to Portugal, the top players at Benfica are all linked with moves to Wolves.
“Ruben is happy here and we are happy with him. We are not thinking to let anyone leave, but every player has a price.
“You never know, if Messi changes to PSG then anyone can go.”
