Man Utd transfer news: Pogba and Solskjaer chat, Lingard helping Sancho chase, Cole praise

Manchester United transfer news is continuing to gather pace ahead of the summer transfer window. There’s a big update on Paul Pogba, who has supposedly talked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid interest from Real Madrid and Juventus. Jesse Lingard and Jadon Sancho also feature, as well as Bruno Fernandes. Express Sport brings you the latest headlines from Old Trafford.

Pogba and Solskjaer chat

Pogba sees his immediate future at Manchester United despite transfer interest from Real Madrid and Juventus.

That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who claim the Red Devils star has also talked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the lockdown period.

Solskjaer has told Pogba he wants the midfielder to form a strong partnership with Fernandes, who has sparkled ever since his January arrival.

And the Norwegian is ready to unleash the duo if and when the Premier League season starts up again.

Pogba has made just eight appearances for United this season, with injury also ruling him out of all of 2020 so far.

Lingard helping Sancho chase

Jesse Lingard is talking to Jadon Sancho about a potential move to Manchester United, reports say.

90min claim the England duo have been discussing the Borussia Dortmund star’s future – and Lingard has been urging his compatriot to move to Old Trafford.

Sancho has dazzled in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 14 goals and weighing in with 15 assists from 23 league games so far.

United aren’t the only club keen on the 20-year-old, however.

Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested – but United seem to be frontrunners at this stage.

Cole praise

United legend Andy Cole has hailed Fernandes for his stunning performances for the club ever since signing from Sporting Lisbon.

He told the Manchester Evening News: “Mentality, that’s massive in football. Confidence as well. Once you’ve got your confidence people start believing in each other.

“We can talk about Fernandes coming in, he’s done extremely well and it’s looked like he’s galvanised the rest of the players as well to start playing their A-games.”

On whether one player can impact an entire squad, Cole added: “He’s done it, he’s started to bring the best out of a few of the other players, which is important.”
