Man Utd transfer news: Juventus ‘open’ Pogba talks, Fernandes exit claim, Chelsea battle

Man Utd: Solskjaer wants slow starts to stop

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to strengthen in January and Express Sport brings you all the latest from Old Trafford. Paul Pogba has been linked with Juventus, a Bruno Fernandes warning has been sent and there is interest in Declan Rice.

Juventus ‘open’ Paul Pogba talks

Juventus have reportedly opened talks with Mino Raiola as they look to re-sign Paul Pogba.

The Italian giants sold the midfielder back to Manchester United in 2016 for a fee of £89million and now the World Cup winner is keen on a return to his former club.

In an explosive interview with Tuttosport, Mino Raiola urged the United board to sell Pogba when the transfer window reopens because his client is unhappy at the club.

According to Italian journalist Carlo Garganese, Juventus have opened talks with Raiola to re-sign the 27-year-old.

The France international is Juve’s top target for 2021 and the Serie A giants have been keen on bringing him back to the club for several years.

Bruno Fernandes exit warning

Manchester United legend Andy Cole thinks the club should be concerned interest may develop in Bruno Fernandes if he continues his fine form.

Speaking to the Target Men Podcast, the former striker admitted he didn’t know too much about the playmaker before he joined the club, but is now a big fan.

He said: “Bruno Fernandes doesn’t wear the captain’s armband but anyone watching this Manchester United team can see that he is the leader of the dressing room and he leads by example on the pitch.

“He’s a world class quality player. The concern for Manchester United is that Bruno Fernandes has well and truly put himself on the map now.

“It’s probably only a matter of time until there are rumours of a Barcelona and Real Madrid being interested in signing him and if Manchester United continue to not perform in the Champions League, no-one knows if his head could be turned in the years ahead.”

Declan Rice eyed

Manchester United could make a move for West Ham star Declan Rice in the summer transfer window next year.

Rice was extensively linked with a move away from the London Stadium during the most recent window, with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard an admirer of his talents.

Despite Lampard spending more than £200million in the off-season, he was unable to land the midfield lynchpin.

Chelsea are still believed to be interested in Rice, but know a deal could be difficult to complete in the transfer window opening next month.

Should they wait until the summer of 2021, they will face competition from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Manchester Evening News report that Old Trafford bosses have already settled on a list of targets to give Solskjaer more depth within his squad with Rice included.

The report claims United want two players for every position and will target a winger, a centre-back, a right-back and a defensive midfielder.

The Red Devils return to action on Sunday when they welcome Leeds to Old Trafford in the Premier League (4.30pm).
