Manchester United have no intention of recalling Dean Henderson from his loan spell at Sheffield United, according to reports. The shot-stopper has been in fine form under Chris Wilder this season, keeping 10 Premier League clean sheets. But United won’t be bringing him back to Old Trafford ahead of schedule.
Henderson has staked his claim for the No 1 shirt for both England and Manchester United with his stunning displays for Sheffield United this season.
The 23-year-old has been a vital player for the Blades, keeping 10 clean sheets – the same amount as Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel.
With Sheffield United pressing the Red Devils hard for a spot in Europe next season, talk of Henderson returning has arose.
But the Daily Mail say United have no plans to recall the goalkeeper, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer happy for him to see out the season at Bramall Lane.
Henderson is due to return to his parent club in July.
And United don’t feel now is the time for him to head back and rival David De Gea for the No 1 spot.

What happens with him beyond the season’s end, though, remains to be seen.
Solskjaer is keen to stand by De Gea, despite the Spain international enduring a poor campaign by his high standards.
He’s made a series of big errors this season, including against the likes of Arsenal, Watford and Everton.
So United may end up loaning Henderson out to Sheffield United again so the 23-year-old can continue to get regular football under his belt.
Interest in the goalkeeper is mounting, however.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Henderson having overseen his development at United. Spurs could make a move with Hugo Lloris approaching the twilight years of his career.
And Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix for Henderson’s signature despite signing Keylor Navas from Real Madrid last summer.
Meanwhile, United youngster Axel Tuanzebe recently opened up on Henderson – and labelled his fellow academy graduate as a ‘big character’.
“I think that’s down to the culture of the club,” he told the Manchester Evening News when asked if Henderson would be considered.
“At other teams there are a lot of talented players that don’t quite make it and that’s not the culture of their club.
“We’re fortunate to have such a club that promotes youth and wants their youth to be big players and big stars in the first-team.
“Obviously we have players with the talent to do so, which we’ve witnessed many times this season. It’s a combination of the two which breed a career.
“Dean’s a big character and I’m sure when he comes back he’ll just slot right back in and continue from where he left off.
“He’s doing very well at Sheffield United and it just shows, coming from the academy, he’s demonstrating what he’s learnt and practising it week in, week out.”
