Man Utd player ratings vs Bournemouth: Greenwood and Fernandes star but three players toil

Manchester United were far from their best but battled their way past Bournemouth in their Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon. Mason Greenwood was the star of the show, finding the net twice with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes also on target. Express Sport will now rate and slate the players from the showdown at Old Trafford.

David De Gea – 5

Another mistake from the Spain international. Gone are the days where David De Gea was the best goalkeeper in the land and he looks more and more like their wweak link.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6

Solid but unspectacular from Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Got forward on many occasions but his end product was often left wanting.

Harry Maguire – 5

One of his worst outings as a United player. For somebody who cost them £80million he simply has to do better.

  • Man Utd boss Solskjaer may already possess perfect Ronaldo heir

Victor Lindelof – 6

Wasn’t able to keep a clean sheet but still did better than Maguire. Was substituted for Eric Bailly at half-time.

Luke Shaw – 7

Remains a good asset for United defensively and a good outlet in attack as well.

Paul Pogba – 7

Kept things ticking along nicely in the middle of the park. The France international also looks happy again – which will be refreshing for supporters to see.

Nemanja Matic – 6

A performance not as good as the ones managed against Brighton and Sheffield United. Wasn’t as good against Bournemouth but remains a good cog in the United machine.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

His goal was beautiful on the eye and the Portugal international drove his side to victory. Dare we say it, he seems more and more like Eric Cantona: Part 2 with every game.

Mason Greenwood – 9

United want Jadon Sancho but Greenwood is undroppable at present. A fantastic performance from the 18-year-old, who scored twice.

Marcus Rashford – 7

Scored from the penalty spot, which will do his confidence a world of good. Still feeling his way back after being out for so long through injury.

Anthony Martial – 8

His goal was the best of the lot and Anthony Martial is finally coming good for United. Finally looks like the potential Ballon d’Or winner the Red Devils thought they were getting from Monaco in 2015.

Made little impact after coming on.

Missed a chance to add to United’s lead.
