Manchester United will look to strengthen in two more positions this summer after completing the signing of Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek, 23, is set to join United in a £40million switch from Ajax, with reports suggesting he has already agreed a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman was also on Tottenham ’s radar this summer, only for Red Devils chief negotiator Matt Judge to get a deal over the line after hearing of late interest from their Premier League rivals.
Confirmation of the move is believed to be imminent, but United will not be concluding their summer business there.
According toThe Sun , Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also close to getting his hands on a new centre-back.
It will not be Gabriel Magalhaes, nonetheless, after the Lille defender finally sealed a £27million to Arsenal yesterday.
United have been linked with a move for Dayot Upamecano, but RB Leipzig will be demanding close to £50million for his services this summer.
As well as a centre-half, Solskjaer wants to add another left-back to his ranks amid concerns over Luke Shaw’s fitness.
Shaw was sidelined with a serious ankle injury back in July which will see him miss the start of the new season, with United set to face Crystal Palace in their opening fixture on September 19.
The 25-year-old has picked up a number of injury problems in recent years, meaning Solskjaer wants to provide cover at left-back this summer.
Man Utd will only end Jadon Sancho transfer pursuit on one condition this summer
Meanwhile, United are not prepared to give up on Jadon Sancho until the England ace insists he wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund.
The Red Devils have identified Sancho, 20, as a top transfer target, but Dortmund have slapped a £100million asking price on their star man.
It is believed they failed with an initial offer of £70million that would eventually rise to £110million.

Dortmund are demanding a bigger fee upfront, however United cannot afford to pay it in the current climate.
The only way Sancho will end up at Old Trafford this summer is if he pushes for the move himself, which appears unlikely ahead of Dortmund’s opening game of the season on September 14.
