Reports in France earlier this month indicated that Nice sporting director Julien Fournier was also interested in signing Sarr.
However, it is believed that the box-to-box midfielder favours a move to a bigger club.
Metz coach Frederic Antonetti played his cards close to his chest when asked about Sarr’s future last weekend.
‘We already have a lot of players who are in demand for the future.’ Said Antonetti.

Sarr signed a five-year-deal with Metz last year but they now face a struggle to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
The talented youngster has scored twice for Metz this season from a total of 18 appearances.
It could be a busy summer in the transfer market for Manchester United – they are also said to be interested in signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva.
