Liverpool trained at their state of the art Kirkby facilities on Wednesday ahead of Sunday's clash with Premier League basement boys Sheffield United.
Jurgen Klopp's Reds have been on a woeful run of form in recent weeks, and have slipped to sixth in the table following defeats by Everton,Leicester City and Manchester City in consecutive league games.
It hasn't helped that reports in Germany have emerged this Wednesday claiming Klopp could leave his post as Liverpool boss in 2022.
Klopp is currently contracted at Liverpool until 2024, and has previous said he intends to see out his deal on Merseyside.
But there are claims that the 'headache' caused by the Covid pandemic, and the opportunity to manage Germany for Euro 2024 on home soil may change his mind.
That said, Klopp didn't look in any way distracted on Wednesday afternoon as he put his Liverpool team through their paces for their trip to Yorkshire.
One big boost from the Liverpool training session is the return of Virgil van Dijk.
Of course it's still early days yet, and as a result the Dutchman worked out on his own while the rest of the Reds trained in a group.
Klopp has been reluctant to provide a time frame on when the centre-back will return.
But it doesn't seem like it will be too long before the much-missed Holland international is back with his team-mates and then back on the pitch for Liverpool.
Elsewhere summer signing Diogo Jota was in training and looked to be getting up to speed with his fitness, and Naby Keita has also provided Klopp with a boost.
Liverpool have been hit very hard with injuries this season, which has seen results falter and Klopp linked with the exit.
But returning players may see a upturn in results and Klopp's future secured.
