The Red Bull Salzburg midfielder has two years remaining on his deal in Austria
The teenager has already won eight caps for his senior national side and has two years remaining on his current deal in Austria.
Szoboszlai came up against Jurgen Klopp’s side in this season’s Champions League, where Salzburg were beaten in a 4-3 thriller at Anfield before being beaten 2-0 in the final group game at home.
He could follow in the footsteps of Minamino, who similarly impressed in two outings against Liverpool.
The Japan star scored at Anfield in October and made the move to Merseyside in January, with Liverpool exploiting a clause to land him for a meagre £7.25m.
Minamino made his debut in the FA Cup victory over Everton but has been used sparingly by Klopp since.
He has featured only seven times as he adjusts to life in the Premier League.
