Liverpool ready to offer Tanguy Ndombele surprise escape from Tottenham nightmare

Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Tanguy Ndombele as doubt lingers over his future at Tottenham. The Frenchman has struggled to get to grips with the demands of the Premier League since his £54million transfer from Lyon last summer.

Ndombele has been forced to battle a host of injury problems, something that has irritated Jose Mourinho since his arrival in November.

Speaking in January, the Special One made it clear he was beginning to get frustrated with his fitness.

He said after the 1-0 defeat at Southampton on New Year’s Day, Mourinho said: “Ndombele? He is always injured.

“He is injured, not injured, he plays a match, the following week he is injured.

“Then he will play a match again, we are hopeful, and it has been like this since the start of the season. This is a concern, of course.”

Tottenham are hoping to unlock the player they worked so hard to sign last July.

It was a deal that saw Spurs beat the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid in the race for his signature.

Liverpool were also keen, but cooled their interest with Jurgen Klopp happy with his midfield options.

Now according to French outlet FootMercato, Liverpool have reignited their interest in their former target.

Klopp is said to still be satisfied with his options in the middle of the park, but he needs to start thinking about the future.

Adam Lallana will leave at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract.

James Milner turned 34 earlier this year while Naby Keita continues to struggle for form.

Tottenham could choose to offload Ndombele, if they receive their money back.

The report states that a loan with option to buy would allow Tottenham to receive a substantial fee for a player who still has a high potential.

There has been recent suggestion that Barcelona are interest in Ndombele.

The La Liga giants could offer Tottenham Arthur in exchange for the midfielder.
