Liverpool are 'super, super happy' with Ibrahima Konate after triggering his £36m release clause at RB Leipzig last May.
Konate proved to be The Reds' sole summer signing, as Jurgen Klopp swooped early in the transfer market to secure a new long-term defensive partner for Virgil Van Dijk.
The 22-year-old had to wait patiently for an opportunity to establish himself in the team though.
He was an unused substitute in Liverpool's opening four Premier League matches before playing the full 90 minutes of their 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Konate would still only feature in three of The Reds' next 11 top-flight fixtures but it seems as if the Frenchman has finally bested Joel Matip to a regular starting berth.
And it seems Klopp is delighted with the progress of the young defender after sealing his switch from Saxony.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports the German gaffer could not be more thrilled about his start to life at Anfield.
“In defence, they’ve done fantastic business with Ibrahima Konate," said Romano, when speaking to Anfield Central.
