Kylian Mbappe still consults family over every decision
Liverpool may be given the chance to land Kylian Mbappe this summer with Paris Saint-Germain facing the prospect of being forced to sell the 22-year-old, according to reports. The striker has long been linked with a move away from the French capital, with the Reds said to be the front runners for his signature.
Mbappe has established himself as one of football’s brightest talents during his short career to date, with the forward able to boast four Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France wins and an incredible World Cup triumph among his many honours.
His meteoric rise to the top, along with his frightening ability and high ceiling for additional growth, has reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The striker is under contract at PSG until 2022, but could move on as early as next summer, it has been revealed.
The defending French champions may be forced to cash in on their star man amid the club’s deteriorating financial position, according to Marca.
It is claimed that PSG posted losses in excess of £130 million last season as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The club are bankrolled by Qatar Sports Investments, a state-owned organisation led by the nation’s ruler Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, but appear to be in deep trouble at present and are considering selling Mbappe if he fails to agree new terms in order to raise some much-needed funds.
A move for his services could potentially cost less than one might assume, with a buying club previously expected to be forced into paying a huge nine-figure fee in order to sign him.
It remains to be seen whether PSG’s precarious position will allow Liverpool to come in and land Mbappe for a comparatively nominal fee.
The Merseyside club’s interest in the forward has been well-documented in recent seasons, with Jurgen Klopp reportedly having tried unsuccessfully to convince him to join the Reds instead of PSG before his move away from Monaco in 2017.
It seems likely that Liverpool’s chances of signing Mbappe in the near future depend on whether or not he decides to sign a new deal with his current employers.
The man himself revealed last month that talks have already begun, claiming that a final decision on his future will be made as soon as possible.
“We are talking with the club,” said Mbappe. “I said that I am reflecting on it too, because I think it is a signature, that if I sign, I am investing myself for the long term into PSG.
“And I am very happy here. I have always been very happy here. The fans and the club have always helped me. And I will always be very thankful to the club.
“I want to think about what I want to do in the coming years, where I want to be, and that is now I will be reflecting on it.
“I think that yes, I will have to soon make a decision. But for now I am in deep thought. If I had the answer today, I would have given it today.
“This is not a desire to take up time, it is just to really think about it. I don’t want to sign a contract and then one year later say I want to leave because I did not want to sign the contract.
“If I sign, it is to stay. That is why it requires thought.”
