Leeds United are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool ’s Divock Origi if they are unable to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic.

The Whites are gearing up for a first season back in the Premier League for 16 years with Marcelo Bielsa now looking to strengthen his squad as best as possible.

One area where they are light is in the striker department, with Patrick Bamford the best option at the moment, a player who has previously not performed well in the top flight.

And Bielsa’s top transfer target is French forward Edouard, who bagged 28 goals in all competitions for the Hoops last year.

But with the champions looking to win a record tenth Scottish Premiership titles in a row, they are not keen to allow their main goalscorer to leave this summer.

Therefore Leeds are now weighing up a move for Belgian forward Origi as second choice, according to The Mirror .

The report claims that the Yorkshire club could also look into taking Rhian Brewster on loan from Liverpool.

Origi is thought to be open to a move this summer as looks to secure more regular first-team action in the forthcoming campaign.

The 25-year-old appeared 42 times in all competitions for the Premier League champions last season but has to play second fiddle to Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the first team.

Brewster, meanwhile, is set for another loan move after impressing at Championship side Swansea last season, where he netted 11 goals.

Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham have also been linked with a move for the youngster, who is very highly rated by Jurgen Klopp.

Leeds have also been linked with a shock move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey in recent days.

The Jamaican, who scored five goals and had three assists last seasons, is said to be valued at around £40million by the Bundesliga club.

While it is not known how much money Leeds have to spend on new players, signing the 23-year-old would be considered a massive coup.
