Liverpool fans will be buoyed by reports that Kylian Mbappe could see himself playing at Anfield.
The French World Cup winner is one of the hottest properties in Europe, and news that he wants to leave PSG has alerted several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The PSG superstar initially moved to the Parc de Princes on loan in 2017, signing for £130m the year after, a world-record fee for a teenager.
Mbappe has scored 130 goals in his four seasons in Paris, winning Ligue 1 three times so far, adding to his league title with Monaco.
However, those four years have brought no Champions League success, despite reaching the final last August.
The 22-year-old didn’t register a shot at Manchester City’s goal in the first leg of this season’s semi-final and missed the second leg with a calf injury.
While Brazilian Neymar has committed his future to the club, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2025, Mbappe is yet to decide where his own future lies.
French outlet Le Parisien claim the Frenchman has been ‘very tempted’ to leave the club for a while now.
Though Mbappe enjoys the lifestyle in Paris, Le Parisien report that he ‘would see himself at Liverpool or Real Madrid’.
Liverpool have long been linked with the 2017 Golden Boy winner but would struggle to meet PSG’s demands for the player.
However, with the former Monaco forward’s current contract set to expire in 2022, the Parisians may be forced to cash in this summer.
Mbappe is not the only world class striker that could be on the move this summer, with Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero all set to be subjected to offers for pastures new.
Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all said to be in the hunt for new frontmen, so it could be a busy summer despite the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
